8 Best Shops in Moab - Ribbit and Co (2024)

Best Trendy & Handmade Shops in Moab

“Nobody goes to Moab to shop.” Then why are there cool shops in Moab, Chad?

Before departing on this full-time travel adventure, I owned a tiny shop in Boston so no matter where I go, I’m always looking for the trendy shops featuring local artists, designers and makers. Plus if I’m going to get a souvenir in Moab (and I definitely AM) then you better believe it’s going to be unique and well made.

There are a few dozen of your standard t-shirt shops in Moab, some stand out a little but often they’re hawking a lot of the same things. Not that I don’t love a good touristy tee, but here’s a guide to the best, most unique boutiques and stores in Moab.

Shopping Guide – Best of Moab, Utah

Note: Don’t necessarily judge these shops by their website or instagram presence. This is a tourist town and stores rely on location and merchandising to attract customers and not really social media.

ar-tee-sian

Love the clean desert vibe of this shop, which is the sister shop of Moab Made (below). Cute tops with unique prints you won’t see anywhere else in Moab plus airy home goods and trendy accessories. They also have a few Arches/Canyonlands souvenirs. It’s got kind of a Marfa, Texas aesthetic.

Moab Made

Moab Made is heavy on wall art and fine handmade goods, all from makers and artists in Moab and Utah. This is where you come when you need a really great gift for someone or you want some real artwork inspired by the Utah landscapes. Sister store of ar-tee-sian above.

Indigo Alley

Take your hippie heart to Indigo Alley for deserty floral dresses and bohemian accessories. I got my favorite ever pair of flowy pants here and want approximately one of each of their graphic tees. I’m big into clothing as souvenir – what better way to bring back a small piece of vacation than with something that you’ll use often but that you would never find at home.

Desert Wild

Desert Wild leans techie but also what I’m gonna call modern woodsman. They’ve got practical stuff like Cotopaxi and Topo bags, Rumpl throws and wool blankets but also clean design tees laser cut wood earrings and stickers of cowgirls riding dinosaurs. Can’t go wrong.

Desert Sol

This gift shop is definitely the cutest. They have their own line of tees that are more curated than the tourist shops, but also a collection of small gifts, handmade wall hangings, eco-friendly products and candles. If you need swag from Arches or Canyonlands, this is your spot. Their more basic sister shop is Simply Moab.

4MOON

This tiny shop has the best Moab/Arches graphic imo. They have a signature silhouette that they print on tanks, tees, crop tops and 5 panel hats. But their other gifts are really cute too, and well curated so you know you’ll find something good.

The Find

The Find is an elevated clothing and accessories shop that still has an outdoorsy feel. They have gorgeous leather goods and handmade jewelry, but also trendy pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Moab Treasure

This shop is definitely more playful but still well-curated. I love that they have Arches and Canyonlands tees from the Landmark Project, one of my favorite brands in the National Parks game (if you haven’t checked out the Landmark Project you really should). This shop is a little off the beaten path so take the detour and show them some love!

Best Indie Designers and Makers

Just as a little bonus here, I’m throwing in two of my favorite artists/brands who hail from Utah and make great artwork. I found both of these designers on my first trip to Moab and now I see their work everywhere because they’re great.

Abby Leighton Studio

Pins, patches, prints and now a whole book! Abby Leighton is a freelance designer working with companies on their branding but she also illustrates a bunch of awesome gifts featuring Arches, Canyonlands, and other southwestern scapes. And she makes fonts – she’s cool.

Fell

Fell has really expanded their offerings and you’ve probably seen their stickers and patches at National Parks all over the US. They’re heavily represented in Moab I’m guessing partly because they’re based in Utah. If you want clean minimalist imagery, they’re the ones.
